Mountain Home, Ark. (KATV) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has adjusted its services at Bull Shoals and Norfork Lakes in light of concerns centered around staffing shortages and safety.
Efforts to take ensure safety and first-rate experiences for all guests, staff will tend to more focused projects, specifically recreation tasks to keep parks clean and operational.
According to a release, the Mountain Home Project Office hours has been changed to Tuesday and Friday, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
A temporary moratorium has been issued for Shoreline Use Permit requests, as well as dock and vegetative management permits.
It is slated to expire October 1, 2025, as the project office prepares for high activity during recreation season.
USACE intends to determine when conditions are suitable for normal operations to resume.
As conditions change or additional resources become available, adjustments will be made.
