Iran will hold nuclear talks with the United Kingdom, France, and Germany in Geneva tomorrow, according to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

The confirmation has come at a time when US President Donald Trump appears to be giving one final chance to talks to reach a deal for a ceasefire in the Israel-Iran conflict and Iran’s nuclear programme.

Earlier in the day, Reuters reported a German source as saying that British, French, and German foreign ministers will hold talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi. The source said that Araghchi will first hold talks with European Union foreign policy Kaja Kallas.

The source said that these talks between Europeans and Iran are being coordinated with the Trump administration. They said the purpose is to persuade Iran to firmly guarantee that it will use its nuclear programme solely for civilian purposes.

Netanyahu rejects talks as Trump gives one last chance to talks

Even as Trump appears to be willing to reach a deal to end the conflict, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has dismissed ongoing negotiations.

Netanyahu has maintained that negotiations are an attempt by Iran to buy time to develop a nuclear weapon and recover from its losses.

Netanyahu told ABC News that “they [Iranians] want to continue to have these fake talks in which they lie, they cheat, they string the US along.”

“They want to keep on building their nuclear weapons and building their mass ballistic missile arsenal, which they’re firing at our people. They want to continue to create the two existential threats against Israel while they’re talking. That’s not going to happen,” said Netanyahu.

On the other hand, even as he has approved plans of attack on Iran if it would come to that, Trump has not yet ordered any attack on Iran as he is waiting to see if Iran would agree to a deal regarding its nuclear programme, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Trump is hoping that the threat of the United States joining Israel in strikes on Iran will compel Iran to make the deal on his terms, as per the report.
