Caitlyn Jenner and Sophia Hutchins hand over a check for $85K to LGBTQ charities in Arizona

Caitlyn Jenner has made it her mission to fight for the LGBTQ community, and in particular transgender rights, for more than three years now.

And over the weekend, the reality star-turned activist hand-delivered grant money from her Caitlyn Jenner Foundation to four recipients in Arizona.

'Seeing how appreciative the organizations are for the extra funding is everything to me,' Jenner said, as reported by AZ Central.

'I've always liked the Phoenix-Scottsdale area, love the area. I have a lot of friends here.'

The foundation also donated $15,000 to the Arizona Trans Youth and Parent Organization, who plan to use the funds to support families of transgender children.

On a mission: Jenner and Hitchens want to bring to bring funds to organizations and awareness to the plight of the LGBTQ community

'I want to concentrate on this next generation coming up,' Jenner said in an interview with KSAZ Fox 10 in Phoenix. 'The ones that are 5 to 15 to 20 years old, this next generation coming up to make it easier for them. Don't put all of these challenges out in front of them. Make it more normal.'

Jenner hopes that using her celebrity and voice will make a difference in the lives of young people.

'We wanted to bring not only funding to these organizations, but we also wanted to bring awareness,' said Sophia Hutchins, the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation's Executive Director.

'I think these gifts are just the beginning of our relationship with these Arizona organizations. The foundation is only 18 months old. We are looking to build a network of donors and organizations we support while focusing on our own programming.'

'Today it's so simple. I wake up in the morning and be myself all day,' said Jenner. And that's exactly the hope she has for all people of the LGBTQ community.
